The haze of a long holiday, salt in the air, warmth on skin, no need to be anywhere. I designed Sommer Solaire for the woman who lives inside that mirage. She drifts. She follows the sun. Solaire is refined, but free-spirited. Steeped in nostalgia and the glow of summer. Guided by intuition, not itinerary.
She is the Sommer woman I’ve always designed for. Her spirit is untamed. I imagine her drifting through a long holiday with no end date. A towel by the pool at noon. Gold accents catching the light at sundown. A jet-set ease that doesn’t announce itself, she simply exists. Forever chasing the warmth of an endless summer.
At the heart of the collection is our new Solara hardware. A jewellery-inspired sunburst drawn from ancient solar iconography, set with a faceted amber stone. These sun emblems are the hallmark of the collection, crafted from polished gold-plated zinc alloy and worn like fine jewellery. Each piece is considered in every layer, designed to catch the light. Engineered to endure the sun, salt, and sea, because we know that's where our Sommer muse is living.
The hardware extends past swim into the Solara Belt, a gold chain belt designed to live within your vacation wardrobe. This piece intentionally traces the waist and catches the light. Designed low on the hip with a slip dress. Cinched at a sarong as the day cools. Or over your bikini for poolside to bar moments. This is an accessory that finishes a look without overpowering it.
A chain belt has been on my moodboard for years, the missing punctuation between swim and resort. Solaire was the right place to bring it in.
I think about colour the way I think about light and what it does to the body, how it shifts through the day, the mood it leaves in a room. This is a palette built for an endless summer and the woman wearing it.
UMBRE was the starting point. A burnished earth tone, drawn from the hour just after the sun drops. It grounds the collection. Warm, close to the body, sophisticated without trying.
AZURE came next. I wanted a blue with crystalline depth, not a printed blue, a swimming blue. The colour of coastal water at the right hour.
DESERT ROSE a dusky blush of sensuality.
OPUS the showstopper, inspired by our popular Baroque Print from 2020, Kendall Jenner’s favourite. A maximalist baroque tapestry, ornate gold scrollwork, starfish, floral motifs, all moving across rich rose and turquoise. Opulent, free-spirited, unmistakably Sommer.
SOFTLUX is our exclusive new matte-finish lycra, developed specifically for Sommer Swim. Crafted from regenerated Osetex polyamide blended with elastane, engineered to balance gentle stretch with lasting shape retention — silky-soft and sun-mellowed against the skin. The reference for this fabric was vintage swimwear. The fabrics our mothers wore on the Riviera, sculpted, suede-soft, never cheap to the touch — finished with a subtle matte luminosity. I wanted that feeling, reimagined through the Sommer design lens.
This is our very first step into accessories, and I wanted to begin with the pieces I always reach for when I'm packing for a holiday. The small objects that complete a look, shape the day, and somehow shift the way you feel and who you become when you’re on vacation.
When I designed the hand fan, I set out to create something considered and genuinely practical, the ultimate beach club accessory. Each piece is handcrafted in Spain from premium Dante Kotibe wood and fine cotton, finished with bespoke metal hardware and a delicate gold chain so it clips effortlessly to your bag, your belt, or even your bikini. It's designed to move with you, from long lunches to the beach club to after-dark. We have released the fans in our two exclusive prints, Opus and Inferna. Alongside the fans, we've brought out the Solara chain belt.
Together, they form a small architecture of details. Hardware, fan, belt. The finishing touches that turn an outfit into an arrival.
